If you are injured after an accident, you should call for an ambulance or at the very least, seek medical assistance as soon as possible. In general, the insurance companies don’t want you to call for an ambulance. They also don't want you to go to the hospital.
The reason they don’t want you to call an ambulance is because it affects their ability to argue that you were not hurt. Insurance companies work very hard to minimize your injury claims. It’s hard for them to argue that you were not hurt if you were taken away by ambulance from the scene. As a general rule, ambulance personnel are not going to waste their time. They’re going to take you by ambulance if it is warranted, if there are serious complaints of pain, and if there are serious concerns at the scene – that’s when they take you by ambulance. Also, if you go to the hospital immediately after an accident (or at the very least seek medical attention in some way VERY SOON after the accident), it’s further evidence that you were injured, so the insurance companies don’t like to see this because they can’t use it against you in the future. It just makes it harder for them to argue you were NOT injured since you were proactive about your injuries.
